TV advert
This is a TV advertisement for Subway
When analysing the advertising for Subway, I started off looking at a television advert.
The narrative of the advert is about Keith.Keith always had things chosen for him, until he discovered subway, and he chose how his sandwich was made.
I then looked at what camera angles were used in the advert and why they chose those shots. The advert started with a wide shot to establish the scene, they had multiple close shots showing faces of the characters, and wider shots to show more surroundings, then a close up of a Sub.
I also noticed how the mis-en-scene was used to further help to sell the product. The mis-en-scene (What colours, sets and props are used? Why?) included lots of the colours green and yellow, the props used were baby Keith, the bowl and scissors used to cut Keith's hair, Keith's box of things and the shredder in the work scene and the subway in the shop scene.
After that I checked the audio. The sounds and music used in the advert were the narrator narrating the narration and some music running in the background.
The advertising techniques used in the advert is independence, as you decide what goes on your sandwich.
Finally, the target audience for this product 13-30 year old's of any gender, especially those who enjoy sandwiches.
When analysing the advertising for Subway, I started off looking at a television advert.
The narrative of the advert is about Keith.Keith always had things chosen for him, until he discovered subway, and he chose how his sandwich was made.
The settings were in the nursery where he was born, his house where he grew up, the workplace where he worked and the subway where he got his his sandwich.
The characters were Keith (main character), the nurses in the nursery, Keith's mom who cut his hair, Keith's boss who told him what to do the subway cashier and some background characters.
The conflict was that Keith had no choice in anything. the resolution was that Keith is given the choice of what goes on his sandwich.

Radio advert
This is a radio advert for subway.
I then had to analyse a radio advert to see if there were any similarities in the styles of advertising that Subway use.
When i analysed this radio advert for subway i noted the style of the advert was both informative and humorous.
I Believe The overall message of the advert seems to just be buy their lobster sub.
The types of voices used in the advert were possibly Canadian, they chose these types of voices because it is the Canadian branch of Subway.
The tone of language in the advert was informal as this blended in with the style of the advert because it is just a sandwich advert.
There was a tag line/slogan in the advert and this was "Subway, eat fresh."
The product name itself was mentioned 6 times to remind the listener of the product being advertised.
The contact details were not mentioned because you should just go and visit a store.
The music used in the advert was very bagpipy and there was also a narrator narrating the narration.
The main purpose of the advert was to promote sales of their new lobster sandwich.
Print advert
This is a print advert for Subway
After analyzing television and radio adverts for Subway I then looked at the style of advertising they use in magazine and newspaper adverts.
I started looking at the writing in the advert to see what it was saying and in this case it is the company name, the product (New smokehouse BBQ chicken), how little fat there is ( 6 grams of fat on 6'' subs), try one today, limited time only and, the official training restaurant of athletes everywhere.
The advert has written on it the company name, the product (New smokehouse BBQ chicken), how little fat there is ( 6 grams of fat on 6'' subs), try one today, limited time only and, the official training restaurant of athletes everywhere.
The graphics of the advert consist of a famous sports person and a sub. The colour base of the advert is yellow and green.
The brand is shown because they want to make sure we know it is them selling the product and I think it is important because we need to know where to buy it.
The intended target audience for the advert is any gender and any age, as everyone likes sandwiches.
The advert uses the advertising technique of celebrity endorsement by using a famous sports person.
